Can a loose air intake hose cause an engine to run rich or mess up oxygen sensor readings?
My check engine light on and the dealer says I've been a bad oxygen sensor. It is a caravan and 2003, I was under the hood last night to see how difficult it would be to change the sensor. She also told me my throttle body cleaning is necessary, so that when I check it out I went, they knew not to put the host pipe from air filter to throttle body on the whole line. After I enabled it and put the hose on the check engine light went correctly, after I drove over 30 miles. I have the two things together and ask whether the sensor is really bad, or the readings were on its own, because a losing record hose. Anyone have any advice on this? Update-The mechanic told me about it was the upstream sensor and it was reading 38% oxygen.
Yes it can. I know that on most newer cars, they have a computer on board that the engine shut down says that if the tubes are not connected. I do not think that the lambda sensor is bad, but if one is bad is probably the front
