how to set dimension in auto cad, is it differ in architectural & engineering drawing, please suggest me.?
as i am working as an auto cad operator in indian Railway, i have to draw swrd, twrd & sometimes ‘ve to draw circuits, but i do not understand how to set dimension in both drawings.
You obviously know that you need to select Dimension from the menu at the top. I’m assuming that there is some question as to which type of dimension to use.
If your lines to be dimensioned are orthogonal on the page (up/down or left/right) then use the Linear menu item. If the lines are at an angle then use Aligned. Radius and diameter are purely down to preference depending on the company you’re working for. As far as the position on the drawing is concerned, the drawing should be easily readable so always choose an area that will not cause confusion with another item.
