What is the difference between Silver plated and Sterling Silver?
I’m thinking about getting a necklace (a dog tag to be specific) and they have the option of either silver plated or Sterling silver. The sterling Silver is MUCH MUCH more expensive. I know htat it probably turns your skin green but if its a dog tag and it doesnt really come in contact with my skin too much would it be okay to buy the silver plated?
Sterling silver is real silver and it should have a 925 stamp on it. plated silver mean it is not real. the silver color is artifficial, it’s sprayed or painted on.
